Obedience: 5/8/2019

Good Morning! Happy Thursday everyone! How are you guys? How has everyone week been so far? Minds been great! We have a family reunion this weekend.. It starts tomorrow I’m excited to see all my family members and Saturday night we having casino night… Sounds like fun huh!! Well I can’t wait…. lol Let’s get this morning started with our morning prayer.

Morning Prayer:

Lord, there are marvelous things that we do not know, nor can we comprehend.
Lord, things that happen in our lives, and things that happen in our friends lives.
Lord, We desire to be thankful, to appreciate everything that comes across our paths. Lord, so often life hurts, We get angry — upset, we do not understand, yet Lord You ask us to be thankful for everything, and have faith – thank You.
In Jesus name I pray. Amen

Scripture Writing Plan:

This morning our scripture writing plan is for Obedience. Yes I know we’ve discussed what obedience is so let’s go over it once again for our new comers

Obedience is an act or instance of obeying.

Why should we obey? I say it’s our duty to obey… and when we obey we’re trusting Gods love for us. Anybody else want to give their answers?

Let’s start out with our scripture that’s been chosen for Obedience. The scripture that’s been chosen today is:

Hebrews 5:9

“After He was perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey Him,”

Thoughts on Hebrews 5:9

In Verse 9 The Son of God has always been perfect. He obeyed God and this has made him fit to be the chief priest for all who obey him. By his death he has made a complete and full sacrifice on our behalf. When God raised him from the dead, Jesus became the source of new life. Jesus gives people this new life, when they put their trust in him. This is the life of the world to come. It begins in us now and will go on forever.

Heavenly Father, thank You that the eternal Son of God set aside His glory to become part of humanity and to live in humble circumstances on my account. Thank You that He was willing to be perfected by the things that He suffered so that by grace through faith in Him He would become my Savior. May I live in humble obedience to His will – Who is the Source of eternal life and the Author and Finisher of my faith – in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Have a Marvelous Thursday everyone! Be Blessed!

  1. A definition of obedience that I heard that always has stuck with me and I try to instill into the kiddos: “To obey is to do what you’re told, when you’re told and with a good attitude.” Working on this myself! Lol

Blessings to you and enjoy that family!

  2. Jesus said if we love Him we will keep His commandments. We can’t claim to belong to Him and not obey Him. Great post! Enjoy the reunion 🤗

John 14:15 NLT, “If you love me, obey my commandments.”
